EV sales numbers in July in Europe 

New European Union (EU) car registration data by power source, released last week (end of July 2025): 

🚗 Hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) led the market with 35% of new registrations. 

🔋 Together, HEVs, battery electric vehicles (BEVs), and plug-in hybrid EVs (PHEVs) accounted for 60% of all new car sales in the EU. 

🇩🇪 Germany alone contributed 38% of all EU BEV sales. 

📈 Year-over-year, July 2025 sales jumped 39% for BEVs14% for HEVs, and 57% for PHEVs compared with July 2024. 

Top 10 battery EVs (source: Bestsellingcars.com) 

🏎️ Tesla Model Y and Model 3 remained in the top two, although Model 3 sales dropped 45% from last year. 

🚗 The rest of the top 15 were mostly European, including Skoda, Volkswagen, Renault, Mercedes, BMW, Audi, and Volvo.
